As we re-dedicated Concordia Lutheran School, the Lord blessed us with picture perfect weather. But more importantly, the Lord has blessed us with 50 years of serving families in Central Illinois.
Families and alums shared memories of the past 50 years while looking forward to the next half century. “For 50 years, Concordia has been a lighthouse school in Central Illinois. We have a rich history of producing exceptional students who go on to the top of their high school classes. It is a place where generations of students and families have received the highest quality of education, with a Christ-centered curriculum, in a safe, nurturing environment,” said Russell, himself a 1965 Concordia graduate. “I personally feel very blessed and proud to have three generations of Concordia students in my family.”
The outdoor service included the planting of a 20-foot Autumn Blaze Maple tree and recognized the Concordia’s continued commitment to academic excellence in Central Illinois. The ceremony concluded with the kindergarten through second grade students singing “Jesus Loves Me.”
