Basketball: Boys and Girls, 5th-8th Grades

Concordia has four teams competing in basketball: Boys Grade 5-6, Boys Grade 7-8, Girls Grade 5-6 and Girls 7-8. The teams begin practicing in mid-October and the season concludes in mid-February. Teams have approximately 20 games, including various tournaments. Each team practices twice a week after school, with additional conditioning and skill practices early in the season.

Concordia competes mostly against other area Lutheran Schools and other non-public schools. At the end of the season, the 7th-8th grade teams are eligible to compete in the LSA State Tournament if they qualify. Instructional basketball is also conducted at Concordia Lutheran School for boys and girls in 4th-5th grades. This program is dependent upon sufficient numbers of participants. It is held Saturday mornings and weeknight evenings from late fall into early winter. Participants learn skills and compete against each other in games (intramural activity). Coaches this year are Mark Lowe (Boys 5-6), Lorraine Ibe (Girls 5-6), Dennis Bruns (Boys 7-8) and Don Stroup (Girls 7-8).
