Concordia students in grades 6-8 may participate in First Lego League. First Lego League is held in conjunction with Caterpillar Tractor Company. This activity is a team activity consisting of from 4-6 students per team. Students learn about engineering and programming while competing against teams from other schools.

Each year First Lego League chooses an area of study and designs challenges based on this topic. The team must program their robot to be able to perform the challenges. Some topics that have been studied include nanotechnology and alternate energy sources. There are four levels of competition: District, State, National, and International. All teams participate at the District level. The highest achieving teams, based on point totals from the competition, advance to the next level.
