Mr. Bratz (Joe)
Profile
Grade You Teach: Band for Grades 4-8, and Music for Grades 3, 4, 6 and 7
Favorite Concordia Memory: Winning 1st place in the Santa Claus Parade my first year at Concordia.
Family at Concordia: I don’t have any children, but, God willing, when I get married and have children, they will attend Concordia.
Why You Chose to Become a Teacher: I love music, and want others to have the same joy in their lives that music brings to my life!
Reason I Was Attracted to CLS: Concordia is an amazing Christ-centered community that values music (especially band) as a way to bring praise to God.
Please Tell us About Your Family: My parents live in Puyallup, Washington, where I grew up. My Dad is a firefighter and my Mom is the finance manager at their church. I have one younger brother who is a recent graduate of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. I am not married, but I have a wonderful girlfriend named Bethany who lives in Clinton Township, Michigan, where she works as an RN. She is planning to move to Peoria soon.
Recommendation for Families Considering CLS: Not only is Concordia a great place to receive a quality Christ-centered education, there are many opportunities to be involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, which helps you become a more well-rounded person.
“One of the things that makes Concordia unique is the rich tradition of its band program. Throughout its history, Concordia band has been a very popular program with the students, as well as a great witness to the community. And I am happy to be a part of it!”
