Grade You Teach: Kindergarten

Activity Sponsor: Yearbook

Years at Concordia: 17 (9 teaching 1st grade, 8 teaching Kindergarten)

Educational Background: B.S. from Indiana University; Colloquy from Concordia University – Chicago

Family at Concordia: My son Kyle and daughter Kelly graduated from Concordia. My husband Dennis is the Recreation Superintendent of the Peoria Park District and has enjoyed many years of coaching basketball and soccer at Concordia.

Why You Chose To Become A Teacher: I had a great educational experience with wonderful teachers and friends. In third grade I helped the first grade teacher with reading groups, and I was hooked!

What Makes Concordia Unique: Concordia is unique because we teach the Gospel every single day. The children learn about love, forgiveness and prayer. We all love children and feel that a well-rounded education is second only to their walk with Jesus.

“Concordia gives children a firm foundation in Christian faith which will stay with them forever. Because of their high educational standards, children are well-prepared for high school.”
