Grades You Teach: K-8 Orchestra; 4,6,7 Classroom Music
How long have you been at Concordia? I came here right out of college for two years. Then I taught briefly at District 150 and Dunlap, but now I’m glad to be back at Concordia!
Favorite Concordia Memory: I especially LOVE working with the little ones. I remember my first year here, a girl from the kindergarten class came to me during her violin class. She showed me that she had figured out how to play Good King Wenceslas on the violin with her bow WHILE singing the song out loud! I think I was more excited than she was!
Why did you choose to become a music instructor? I’ve played music since before I can remember. I still love it more than any other hobby or activity I’ve ever done. Every day I can’t wait to share my knowledge and love of music with my students – hoping that one day they will do the same.
Why would you recommend Concordia to families? For the same reasons I was attracted to come here. I don’t think it’s easy to find a school where one feels to welcomed and comfortable. It’s like everyone is part of one big family!
Outside Interests: I love to travel. After living in France for the past year or so, I have developed a very strong desire to see as much of the world as possible. It is there, too, that I had time to find and develop my current interests of hiking, biking, horseback riding, mountain climbing, foreign languages and cooking.
“Ive taught at about 10 different schools in my career. Concordia is the only place where Ive felt such comfort and warmth when I enter the school. I have always felt welcomed with open arms.”
