General music is an important part of our Christian curriculum. Our various music teachers use a variety of resources to teach the basic elements of music such as beat, rhythm, pitch, tone, breathing, posture, tempo, dynamics, music notation and musical form.

 

Music appreciation is also an important aspect of our program. The stories of many composers’ lives are taught, as well as some music of various cultures. The families of instruments are also studied. Musical response, dancing, singing and playing of rhythm instruments are included in our music education.
