There is a special, optional contest choir that is offered for 4th and 5th grades. This choir begins after the Christmas concert and meets until the Spring Concert near the first of May.

Its purpose is to prepare, memorize and sing 3 two-part sections of music. Students are judged on the basis of how well the choir follows the basic musical elements of performance.
