Concordia students in the upper grades may participate in First Lego League. First Lego League is held in conjunction with Caterpillar Tractor Company. This is a team activity consisting of 4-6 students per team. Students learn about engineering and programming while competing against teams from other schools.
Each year, First Lego League chooses an area of study of which to base all design challenges upon. Each team must program a robot to achieve pre-determined challenges. Some topics that have been studied include nanotechnology and alternate energy sources. There are four levels of competition: District, State, National and International. All teams participate at the District level. The highest achieving teams, based on point totals from the competition, advance to the next level.
