How are we different?
Christ-Centered Foundation
At Concordia, education is more than a service, it is a calling. Our school is built on the foundation of Jesus. The truth found in the Bible guides our lessons, relationships and decisions. Faith isn’t limited to weekly chapel, it is active in every part of the day. We intentionally examine our lessons through a Biblical worldview and create a Christian Rationale for a Bible-centered curriculum. Students learn in a community grounded in the daily presence of Christ.
Intentional Culture of Belonging
Concordia places a high value on relationships. Knowing each student and partnering with parents is a priority. There is a reason students and families stay for years. This is not the school where you drop your student off and never hear from us. Whether it be through our teachers connecting with families at in-person visits & student activities or our families in fellowship with one another during our Parent Teacher Connection activities like the special-persons dance or decorating gingerbread houses, the connections are purposefully built in! Concordia chooses people and community.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says that “two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion.” Concordia is family.
Mission-Minded and Service-Oriented
Service isn’t a checkbox, it’s a lifestyle. Concordia encourages students to care for their neighbors, serve in their churches, and share God’s word with others. In fact, each year we choose a theme verse to intentionally guide us in our decision making and spiritual growth and this year’s verse is 1 Peter 4:10-11, Serve One Another.
Academic Excellence Anchored in Purpose
Concordia blends strong academics with a Christ-centered worldview. Students learn to think critically, communicate effectively, and lead with integrity. Our school’s test averages in all subjects & across all grades are in the 70th percentile and above. Yet academic rigor is not just about test scores, it is about preparing leaders for high school and beyond. Students leave Concordia with confidence.
Rich Extra Curricular Life That Reflects God's Gifts
Concordia offers a variety of extra curricular activities such as music, athletics, and theater. What’s different? They are not offered just to have something more to do or to fill our time. The Bible passage found in 1 Peter 4:10-11 reminds us that we Christians are to use
our unique gifts, given by God’s grace, to serve one another faithfully. We encourage our students to try new things and to develop their skills as a way to worship the One from whom the gifts are given. The arts and sports are not distractions from academics; they are part of a whole-child development model rooted in Christian stewardship of talent.
Strong Church-School Partnership
Concordia isn’t an island. We are blessed to be supported by three association congregations, working together to nurture students in the faith. The Pastors & DCE’s (Director of Christian Education) of our association churches provide spiritual guidance and foster a stronger Christ-centered, Gospel-centered community.
