Sports Activities
Sporting activities can teach our children many valuable lessons, including self-discipline, healthy eating habits, respecting authority, and playing with integrity. Our coaches train students using Biblical principles and expect players to maintain high standards in their interactions with others.
Concordia is proud of its many athletic accomplishments. Our 7th-8th Boys Basketball teams won Lutheran State Championships in 1999 and 2000. The 2000 team went on to the Final Four at the National Invitational Tournament in Valparaiso, Indiana. The 7th-8th Girls and 7th-8th Boys teams have qualified numerous times for the LSA State Tournament in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Soccer teams have claimed many league championships. Basketball teams of all ages have claimed numerous tournament championships. Concordia has had individual participants win State Titles in Track.
Our athletes are recognized at Sports Banquets held throughout the school year.

Soccer
Concordia is a member of the Peoria Parochial Soccer League. We have co-ed teams of boys and girls in grades 1-2. Boys and Girls field separate teams in the grade 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8 divisions. The season begins with practices in mid-August and concludes with the League Tournament in the first week of October. Teams are coached by parents and conduct practices twice a week after school at various locations. Games are played in the evening and on Saturdays at Mossville Soccer Complex.
Volleyball
Concordia has two teams that compete with other Lutheran Schools in the area. The Junior Varsity team consists of 5th-6th grade girls. The Varsity team consists of 7th-8th grade girls. Both teams compete in matches and tournaments throughout the season. The volleyball season begins in late August and concludes in mid-October. Teams that qualify may compete in the Lutheran Sports Association State Tournament.

Basketball
Concordia has four teams competing in basketball: Boys Grade 5-6, Boys Grade 7-8, Girls Grade 5-6 and Girls Grade 7-8. The teams begin practicing in mid-October and the season concludes to mid-February. Teams have approximately 20 games, including various tournaments.
Concordia competes mostly against other area Lutheran Schools and other non-public schools. At the end of the season, the 7-8 grade teams are eligible to compete in the LSA State Tournament if they qualify.
Instructional basketball clinics are also offered in the spring for grades 1-4. Participants learn skills and compete against each other in intramural games.
Cheerleading
Concordia varsity cheerleading squad performs at varsity boys’ & girls’ basketball home games as well as local tournaments.

Track
Golf
Concordia Lutheran School provides a golf program for boys and girls entering into grade 5th – 8th grade. The golf program is in line with the Illinois Elementary Sports Association (IESA) and competes in it’s state tournament. The golf season begins at the end of July and then concludes in mid September. Golfers do not need to have prior knowledge of the game to participate, however, practice outside of team practices and competition is encouraged.
