“Arts Attack” is the curriculum that is used in grades K-5. It was developed by Marcia Osterink, an artist and classroom teacher for over 25 years in Cardiff, California. Arts Attack’s goals are to teach the elements and principles of art and drawing in a developmental and sequential way. These include: line, shape and form, color, texture, and pattern. They also study the art of other artists, cultures, and historical periods. In all areas of study, the emphasis is on motivation and self-expression.
Concordia offers Art as a curricular study to the students in grades 6-8. The students continue their exploration of the elements of art and art appreciation. They display their works in “Arts in the Park”. They also use their art to enhance worship with banners for chapel or concerts.
